Peskov says direct gas sales to Ukraine matter of negotiations

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has never ruled out direct gas supply contracts with Ukraine, it is a matter of discussion and viability, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

“Gazprom has never denied such an option. Gazprom is a reliable gas supplier, it was, it is, and it will be. Everything is a matter of negotiations and economic viability for the company,” he said.

Peskov also said that diversification of Russia’s gas supply routes is linked to commercial advantage and economic performance.
